Twitter hijacked by 'Iranian Cyber Army'

The microblogging platform Twitter was hijacked by a group claiming to be the "Iranian Cyber Army". The redirection lasted approximately 90 minutes.

The hijack occured when a hacker was able to get the credentials needed to actually log into the DNS service and redirect access away from twitter's servers to the cyber army.

Tom Daly CTO at Dyn, Twitter's DNS service indicated that there was not a breach of security at their end. When they did notice unusual activity they did notify Twitter immediately.
