Adobe Reader 1500 Error From Latest Update

The Adobe Reader 9.3 updates that have been issued recently has created a wave of criticism as the automated installer reports failure for a number of users.

I have been able to get this to work properly on my Windows 7 machine. This process will probably also work for Win XP and Mac system as well.

First - Uninstall Acrobat Reader 9.x from your system

Next - Download and install Acrobat Reader 9.3.0 from the Adobe Download page. Once installed verify the version by opening up Adobe Reader >Help>About.

Next - Go to Adobe Support (If you have a Mac system, substitute "Macintosh" as the platform

What worked for me was to incrementally update from 9.3.0 to 9.3.1 and then to 9.3.2. When running the 9.3.2 update you may encounter some error messages, just continue through them. Once done your updates should "take". You can verify this again by doing another >Help>About.

I'm sure eventually Adobe will have an automated fix, but for those that are security minded, it might be worth your while to go ahead and address the issue without waiting for them .
